Ps 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Ps 34:2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
F.B Meyer said “Unbelief puts our circumstances between us and God, but faith put God between us and our circumstances". There is power in praise. It has the power to allow our minds to become clear and focused. Praise helps us to gain a new perspective. When we praise God it moves us into a mind to worship, because it is God glorifying, God centering, and God focused. The psalmist says “I will bless the Lord at all times; His Praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
Praise is a powerful thing. It has the power to re-focus us and re-direct our thoughts when needed. It reminds us of our purpose. Praise is an intentional response to life in general. We choose to praise the Lord in the good times and in bad times. For many, it is easy to praise the Lord when things are going our way and when we're on top of the world. But, it is another thing to praise the Lord when everything around us seems to crumble into a pit of despair.
King David could praise the Lord in both the good times and the bad because it originated from somewhere deeper than his lips; it came from the depth of his soul. “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD”. When we praise the Lord it impacts others around us as well. The Psalmist said, “The humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.” That's right, praise has a powerful impact not only on our lives but on the lives of others who witness it. It can redirect their minds and hearts toward God.
Your workplace challenge is to ask, do others around you only hear you praise the Lord when everything is going your way? Or, do they hear you praise the Lord at all times because it emanates from the depth of your soul? We must praise Him continually and do it for His glory!
