Rom 8:38/39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A weathervane was placed on the top of a Farmer’s Barn and on it were the words, “God is Love”
The Farmer’s neighbor came by one day and noted the weathervane as they stood out in the yard looking up at the barn and said, “Looks to me like the weathervane shows God’s love changes with the wind!”
The farmer smiled and shook his head and said, “No my friend—it is meant to show—that no matter which way the wind blows in life, nothing will change the fact that God is Love and His love will always be with you.
That is the way of God’s Love with us as well. When we face difficult days at work or encounter hard times in life, some will say “where is God’s love now?” Friend, the absence of problems or hard times is not an indication of God’s love. An indication of God’s love is when the wind blows hardest from any direction, God hasn’t moved! He is there with us no matter which way the wind blows. What's more, it is through our actions that others see that God is with us in the midst of the wind, no matter which way or how hard it blows.
People in the workplace are sure to see the truth of what we claim about the love and presence of our God when the wind is blowing the hardest in our lives. That is probably the greatest witness to our faith that we can present to others in the workplace. It is not difficult to live by faith when things are easy for us and going our way. It is when the wind blows, threatening to tear down our roofs and rip the siding from our lives that our faith is revealed. I wonder, how do others see us live out our faith in the workplace? Do we lose our cool when something doesn’t work out the way we hoped? Do we strike out verbally at someone who didn’t meet our expectations? Do we throw our hat on the ground and stomp around when our plans fail? Like the song says “that’s when faith is really put to the test.” Have a wonderful weekend and make today count for His glory!
